I am an experienced and qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and a Counsellor and I offer short term or open-ended long term counselling.
Drawing on many years of experience from private practice, public and private counselling services, and specialist neurological rehabilitation work in an acute setting for the NHS, I bring a depth and breadth to reflect my approach. I abide by the BACP code of ethics and hold Enhanced DBS.
I can draw on a variety of therapeutic models so I can tailor my approach to your individual needs, to include, but not limited to, short term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, time-limited Psychodynamic counselling or long term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. My approach takes the view that patterns of experiences, often formed early in life, are dynamically and unconsciously repeated in adult life. My aim is to help you understand these patters and how they affect your present day life and relationships and provide a safe place in which to explore past and present experiences.
Working together we can explore aspects of your life you feel you are struggling with, clarify issues and work through your anxiety to understand the underlying causes. With trust, my purpose is to help you live your own life more fully; a life that really feels your own, enabling you to make sense of your life.
What makes you unique is the person that you are: your wishes, your desires, your hopes. Therapy is a journey that leads to change and the therapeutic space is there just for you, to experience difficult feelings safely, together.
