I am an experienced Integrative Therapist, who has worked with a wide variety of adults, adolescents and children experiencing difficulties in their lives and presenting with a range of diagnoses.
I have worked in secondary mental health care and in psychiatric settings within the NHS as well as within schools, colleges, for the charity sector and in private practice.

As an Integrative Practitioner, I consider that I have a “box of therapeutic tools” that I have been trained in and have also developed over the years. Different modalities and techniques work for different people and different issues.

My therapy training is to Masters level and has equipped me with a thorough grounding in theory and therapy techniques. I also have a background in Psychology which means that I can draw on psychological knowledge as well as on a variety of psycho-therapeutic techniques with which to help.

I work collaboratively with each person. As each of us is unique, I endeavour to offer my knowledge and skills in a way that works best for you and towards what you are looking for. So, I will regularly discuss how you are experiencing the therapy, and what you are finding helpful or unhelpful.

I do not believe therapy is about telling you what to do, although I will make suggestions and may give you materials to read or to work on between sessions. However, I believe that each person has their own answers within them, whatever your age. My role is as a facilitator to help you to access those answers, to help you to develop the skills to solve your problems and to reach your goals.

The important part is that we build a two-way relationship of trust in which you feel safe enough to say what you really think and express how you really feel. We can do this is in the usual talking therapy way. However, I can additionally use other therapy techniques such as art or play therapy to help you to express what you need to express in the way that best suits you, and at your pace.
