"At the heart of my work is a belief that there is no one single solution for every person. We are all unique."
Hi, my name's David. I'm a chartered counselling psychologist. At the heart of my work is a belief that there is no one single solution for every person. We are all unique.
In all aspects of my work, I integrate theory and research from psychology, neuroscience and philosophy to provide evidence based, creative interventions in collaboration with you. I have trained in several psychological counselling and psychotherapy models including person centred, cognitive behavioural (CBT) and psychodynamic.
Additional to circa 15 years of working in consultancy, I have been providing psychological therapy in private practice for many years and I currently work as a senior psychologist in the NHS. I spent several years in a clinical lead role at a neurological charity, delivering a range of counselling and psychotherapy as well as managing the overall counselling service. I also work as a university lecturer, teaching and publishing research.
For organisations, I can support you in project and change management, developing employee wellbeing initiatives, workshop facilitation, conflict resolution and I can provide knowledge, guidance and resource for any services and agendas which you may wish to develop around mental health and wellbeing.
For athletes and sports teams, I focus on wellbeing and mentality, helping your performance and life to flow. I also work with sports teams, coaches and managers, utilising a range of practices to understand how the systemic structure of their team operates and how it can be optimised.
Through my years of taking part in the fields of sport, business and research, I have a foundation of experiential understanding which, combined with my psychology training, allows me to offer unique contributions and support, specific to your requirements.
Outside of my work, I enjoy reading, writing, mindfulness meditation, yoga, hiking, football and golf (actually, pretty much every sport).
